No Name Falls

While in Colorado I frequently hike up to Hanging Lake (named a National Natural Landmark earlier in 2011).  However, No Name Creek, just down the highway to the West, is a less popular and equally beautiful location.  In early July I walked up the trail along the creek for a few miles.  The creek was literally overflowing with late-spring runoff.  The first photograph is from a small waterfall on the side of the stream near a bridge a few miles up the trail.  The second photograph comes from my hike out in the late afternoon.  A curved tree and small waterfall were uninteresting to me during the overcast morning, but later in the day the clouds cleared and the sun started to shine through the leaves and the waterfall just as I walked by- perfect for a great waterfall photograph framed by the curved tree.
