Detail in Fall Leaves

Fall has started in earnest in New England.  Every year I try to use my scanner as a camera to take a series of photographs of the leaves as they start to change colors in October and November.  This year I decided to break out of my typical mold and scan many of the leaves as if they were film so I could focus more on the abstract texture in the leaf instead of the form of the leaf.  When I expanded the size of many of these leaves, they revealed surprising detail.

Veins in Green Leaf (15″ x 15″)

Veins in Red Leaf (15″ x 15″)

Leaf Triptych (15″ x 17″)
