Yucca at White Sands

As the dunes at White Sands National Monument move across the landscape at about 30 feet per year, plants struggle to stay above the shifting sands.  This yucca had been partially covered by the grains of gypsum.  As the dune moves away, it will be left standing on an unsupported root structure.
