Canyon de Chelly at Sunrise

Towards the end of my recent trip to northern New Mexico and Arizona, I spent a few days hiking in and around Canyon de Chelly.  One morning I woke up well before sunrise to drive out to one of the overlooks.  Direct sunlight on the canyon can create harsh shadows and bright areas, so I decided to shoot for the half hour before sunrise to get the indirect “alpenglow” effect.  I stitched this panorama together from six images.  I will post more photos from this canyon and from my trip in the next few weeks.
