Balanced Rocks at Lee’s Ferry

After driving through the snow storm near Flagstaff, AZ (see last week’s post), I continued north on Highway 89 to Lee’s Ferry.  Lee’s Ferry sits at the confluence of the Colorado and Paria Rivers- we wanted to leave  a car at this location so we could backpack from the mouth of the Paria Canyon to Marble Canyon.  The clearing storm clouds still blanketed the top of the Vermillion Cliffs and the plateau around me as I reached the confluence of the rivers.  This is a panorama of the cliffs and balanced rocks near Lee’s Ferry.
