Industrial Summer in Tucson

When I first moved to Tucson in the broiler-oven heat of early August 2012, I made time every  week to drive, bike, and walk around the city to take photos of warehouses, railroad tracks, and buildings in the sweltering afternoon and evening.  I wanted to capture the heat of the metal and the cracked, blistered, peeling feel of 115F.  I also tried to incorporate a reminder of the relief of shade and the summer monsoon.  Here are a few of the photos I took last summer as part of this incomplete series- I hope to work more on it late this summer.  If you have suggestions, feel free to email me or leave a comment.

You’ve gone urban! These are great! I especially like the third one with the gray sky above the warehouse. Nicely done.
