Sonoran Desert Winter Rain Storm

I’ve had this panorama hanging around since I took it in January- completely forgot about it until this summer. I did a whole series of stream and waterfall panoramas at Romero Pools in Catalina State Park (see my posts from January and February, 2013).  I took this panorama on the same trip, but I was so focused on my long-exposure water shots that I completely overlooked some of my other work from that weekend. This compilation is a view of the winter clouds taken from the bottom of the foothills looking back at the valley and trailhead.

  4. A beautiful and dramatic panorama. Those clouds are simply amazing. I love the almost monochromatic tones – just like with you previous picture. They could easily have been two pictures of a series.
