Road to the Mid-Elevation Lakes
After coring the lower elevation lakes, we headed further into the Himalaya to a series of cloud forest lakes at ~3,000 meters that we had identified by satellite photos before our trip. We turned off the major paved road and followed a rutted, dirt jeep trail along the steep hillside. We camped in the terraces of harvested fields then continued up valley the next morning after a rain storm.
