Dark Morning Clouds over Seattle

In early August,, I peeked out my window before heading in to work and noticed dramatic, dark storm clouds rolling over town. I grabbed my camera and shot a few panoramas on my way in to work.

Tree in Slot Canyon at Tent Rocks National Monument

Erosion has washed away the rocks and soil under the ponderosa pine hanging onto the rock walls in the main slot canyon at Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument. One of my favorite trees in the world to photograph.

Snoqualmie Pass and Clouds

About a month ago, I popped over central Washington for some sunshine. On the way back, rain blowing in off the Pacific was dropping rain, sleet, and snow on Snoqualmie Pass. I had to pull over and photograph the dark trees and rock faces poking through the fog.

Storm Cloud over Central District

I intended to focus my photo shoot on the Sound and the downtown Seattle skyline, but when I arrived at the Jose P Rizal Bridge, an impressive storm cloud was lumbering over the Central District. I shot a few panoramas of the sky as the clouds changed shape, and this is my favorite.

Breiðdalur Valley, East Iceland

We drove through a thick fog bank on the pass between Egilsstaðir and Breiðdalur valley in East Iceland. As we continued down the ring road towards Breiðdalsvík, we dropped below the clouds and could see the 1100 meter high mountains disappearing into the rain on either side of the valley.
